   FAO Schwarz New York

   The biggest toy store in New York is FAO Schwarz. This iconic toy store has been in the city since 1870, making it one of the oldest toy stores in the United States. It offers extraordinary, unique toys from all over the world for all ages.

   This toy store at Rockefeller Center is a magical place. In addition to toys, it also has extra features, such as a famous floor piano that begins playing when you step on the keys.

2. LEGO Store

   If you or your kids are LEGO fans, the LEGO Store in New York is the place to be. There are multiple stores across the city, but the one at the Rockefeller Center is the largest. Here, you can visit the Minifigure Factory and create your own custom LEGO figure.

   At the LEGO Brick Lab, for an additional fee, children can build their own creation and then watch it come to life in the lab’s virtual world. Almost all LEGO products are also available to purchase in the store. You can also visit LEGOLAND New York.

3. Nintendo Store

   The Nintendo Store in New York is located near Rockefeller Center and offers everything related to video games. Here you can try out games and buy merchandise from the games. There is also a display case where you can see all the game consoles that were released over the years.

4. American Girl Place

   The American Girl store in New York is the place to be for kids who love dolls. Here you can pick out a new doll, but not just any doll. There are dozens of “looks” to choose from. There are different skin, hair and eye colours, hairstyles and accessories, so you can go home with a doll that looks just like you.

   Complete it with the perfect outfit and stay around to enjoy some of the other services at the store. You can have a high tea with your new doll, enjoy salon services like manicures and even have dinner. For some experiences, you need to make a reservation in advance.

5. Build-A-Bear Workshop

   Creating your own stuffed animal is a memorable experience for children. At Build-A-Bear in New York, you pick your favourite animal and stuff it yourself, with the help of a staff member. This is accompanied by a whole ritual that helps to create an immediate bond with the new toy. Finish the process by naming the stuffed toy and picking the perfect outfit for it, from a princess dress to a sporty look.

6. CAMP, A Family Experience Store

   Toy store CAMP, located in the Flatiron District, is an experience for the whole family. Not only can children play with the toys, but they can also play in the store, as there are slides, climbing frames, and a car for children to sit in. The toy shop works with different themes, which change every 8 to 12 weeks. When going to New York with kids, I highly recommend a visit to this shop.

7. Harry Potter Store

   The Harry Potter Store is located at the rear of the Flatiron Building. Any Harry Potter fan can indulge themselves at the flagship store that offers all kinds of products, such as Hogwarts capes, chocolate frogs, and Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans. You can even try a real Butterbeer.

8. M&M’s Store

   The M&M’s Store in New York is any candy lover’s paradise. In the large candy store in Times Square, you’ll find a wall full of all kinds of colours and flavours of M&Ms, where you can put a bag together with your favourite colours of M&Ms. In addition to candy, they also sell all kinds of merchandise, such as kitchenware and accessories.

9. Disney Store

   The Disney Store in New York is a place for young and old alike. The toy store in Times Square is a unique place for children to play in and consists of two floors full of stuffed animals, clothing, and other Disney toys.
